Create A Game

Students design an original game and use Word or PowerPoint to create directions.  A variation on this activity would be to take an established game and create directions for play.

Teen Health
Students choose a teen health topic and present it in a Word document, which can be compiled into a class booklet, or in a PowerPoint presentation.  Teen Health, Teen's Health.Org, Teen Health Connection

Tracking Nutrition
Science teacher Russell Gilbert’s unit on nutrition features spreadsheets as food for thought, literally.  Students analyze the content of food found in the school's vending machine.  A variation on this activity could involve students tracking the food they eat in a week's time period.  Students input the data they collect from the various foods’ nutritional panels into a spreadsheet. Food Finder , Food Count, Food Finder Search, CalorieKing, USDA Nutrient Database, Restaurant Info Guide
