Grade 11
The 11th grade Essay
contest, a short story creating writing project, is
coordinated with teachers through the English and
Advance Placement classes.
Essay Contest:
Every year, AEC sponsors a creative
short story writing contest. This encourages our
students to express themselves through their knowledge
and creative abilities, in an educational setting.
Working through our English teachers at eh high school,
students are encouraged to participate. Each entry is
judged locally and two winners are announced from each
high school. These winners join hundreds of others from
across the country to take a trip to our nations
capitol. Once there, they experience all the
educational and civic histories that Washington D.C. has
to offer. Our students can earn scholarships for their
efforts. This program is open to all 11th
grade students.
