September

Constitution Day

We celebrated our country's Constitution on Sept. 19.  We were entertained by our choir, kindergarten, second grade, and fifth grade.

Book Fair

We have been enjoying a wonderful book fair this year.  There is such a wide variety of books to choose from.  Sept. 27 is grandparent and pajama night.

Kindergarten

We have been so busy in Mrs. Evans' Kindergarten.  We had a Luau for L, Olympics for O, Grandparents visit and Gingerbread Man Hunt for G, and Hat day for H.  We enjoyed our grandparents and school staff coming to read to us. We have been learning how to write sentences about what we like to do with our grandparents, made a grocery store to practice beginning sounds of foods and the use of money, an started our reading contest for the month.  We have listened to or been read over 200 books.  Mrs. Evans is so proud of us!  In math, we have learned how to sort, find positions, and write numbers and number words.  We made family trees that were awesome!  We have been learning the five senses in Science having a tasting party to determine sweet, sour, and salty and smelly cinnamon names for smelling. 

Second Grade

Ms. Britt's second grade has been working very hard on math, social study, and science skills.  The made balance scales, worked on map skills, and did a soil investigation. 

Third Grade

Our third grade presented a program for the PTO meeting in September which featured the Constitution of the United States.

Fourth Grade

Mrs. Hunt's class and Mrs. Evan's class have been working together on Fridays as Reading Buddies.  They are both learning a lot!

Mrs. Tyrell's class has been studying Native Americans in social studies.  We made pottery to learn just how difficult life must have been long ago.  We have also enjoyed reading buddies with Mrs. Flounder's class. 

Fifth Grade

Fifth grade made personal artifact boxes and displayed them for parent teacher conference night.
