Second Grade

I want to thank you for all of your help and support so far this year! I am so pleased with the progress your children are making. Our class is really excited about reading. One of our favorite stories is Gregory the Terrible Eater. We have just started our Solar System unit and projects to go along with it. By this time you have probably heard about our class mascot named Furry Friend. Furry Friend has the opportunity to visit many students' homes throughout the year. Our special friend and his journal travel home with a different student each day. The lucky student is chosen by Mrs. Britt and the class depending upon who has shown the class some "friendly" qualities throughout the day! Some days we need seventeen Furry Friends!!

I have lots of fun, challenging, and exciting adventures planned in our classroom. I hope to stimulate your child's mind and natural curiosity through fun, interesting, and creative activities. I encourage you to get as involved in your child's academia as you can so that you may also experience the joys, successes, and triumphs that your child achieves throughout the year as I get to. Your support will also help your child keep trudging along with determination and confidence when difficulty in encountered.
