Teachers With Military Experience!
Tennessee has posted a new provision for salary rating
credit for active military experience: "Acceptable
Military Experience for Salary Rating Purposes: Active
military service in the armed forces of the United States
shall be recognized. Military service in the Reserve or in
the National Guard, other than active duty, shall not be
counted. Not more than five years of experience in the armed
forces of the United States shall be counted." Please
submit a DD Form 214 which documents active military
experience to Virginia Phillips.

Federal Stafford Loan forgiveness for Elementary and
Secondary School Teachers is open to any teacher who
has taught in an eligible (30% poverty) school for 5 years.

This program provides financial assistance to Tennessee
public school teachers seeking an advanced degree in a math
or a science, or a certification to teach a math or a

Geographic Alliance, in cooperation with the Asia Program at
the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, is offering the
National Consortium for Teaching about Asia (NCTA) Seminar
from June 11-21, 2007 on the campus of the University of
Tennessee, Knoxville for 4th to 12th grade teachers.
