Mr.
Steve Burns, Assistant Principal
Mr. Burns came to Jefferson Elementary in
1999 after being a classroom teacher for
25 years. He earned his BA degree from Carson-Newman College, his MA
degree from Union College, and has done further study at The University of
Tennessee. Mr. Burns likes being assistant principal at Jefferson
Elementary because "you are around all the students, unlike teaching when you
are only around one grade level."
He says it took a couple of years but
he now knows a good percentage of the students as well as their parents.
